 to change their futures.

Our Organization

Built Africa was founded by Ms Gertze in 2016 and registered on 22nd March 2017, being recognised as a non-profit organisation which embraces the strong standing of all Africans and inhabitants in the African continent, helping unemployed youth and women by equipping them with tools and resources which will make a positive change in their lives.

As an extension of our scope, we also focus on the prevention of gender- based violence by providing counselling and empowerment initiatives for abused youth and woman.

We also believe in building a strong community through support system for abused woman and children by training local volunteers and counsellors to help concerned people in need.

The name Built Africa derived from the word “built” meaning sturdy or strong. Our aim is to build strong communities through our preventative, life- and skills development programmes and the empowering of young people and woman in the context of the nuclear family.

We want to decrease the high unemployment rate and dependency on social grants provided by the National Government (DSD) through our intervention of linking and creating awareness on relevant resources and stakeholders.

We are committed to the changing of social values and structural factors that perpetuate violence against women by promoting a spirit of interdependence, mutual respect and co-existence between men and women.

Built Africa NPO is governed by board members who are from different backgrounds, passionate and equipped to contribute positively to the organization in their area of expertise.

Driven by the passion to make a difference in these communities and the impact of our productivity, we would like to request your social investment to these programmes that provide support to build necessary skills as stipulated above that empower youth and women.

We take this opportunity to reiterate our anticipated gratitude to Built Africa for your support and cooperation to advance our organization objectives.

Ms Gertze has several ideas that she wishes to implement in order to increase the scope of work within the community, affecting change within surrounding communities’ through the eradication of poverty, youth development, decrease in gender-based violence, empowerment and township revitalization.

She is grateful for the exposure from her working experience within the public and private sectors combined where she gained the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to start a project of this multitude.
